Renate T. Ghannam (Reema) was born in Bremen, Germany. She Studied art and illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design in New York City. Married to a Palestinian (Aziz pictured on left), she has travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, appropriating images and ideas reflected in her paintings. Her main body of work presents images of the Palestinian landscape, and Palestinian women, emphasizing the spirit of the region and it’s people through the use of bold color and texture.

Renate has participated in several exhibitions in Washington D.C. and New York. She currently lives in the New York Metropolitan area.
